Red Top Mountain State Park - Located on Allatoona Lake, this Georgia State Park is a natural retreat just minutes from Atlanta. Named for the color of its soil, Red Top Mountain was historically an important mining area for iron. Today, this history is portrayed in many of the interpretive programs offered throughout the year.

The park encompasses 1,562 acres on the shoreline of 12,000-acre Allatoona Lake. Its pine and hardwood forest harbors a wide variety of wildlife and rare plant life. Park visitors may encounter these along 12 miles of hiking trails, including the ADA Accessible Lakeside Trail. An heirloom garden of native plants is a treat found at the Park's Visitor Center.

Plantation Golf Club, formerly Royal Oaks Golf Club, is nestled in the rolling hills of Northwest Atlanta. Plantation Golf Club offers golfers the natural beauty and challenge of the North Georgia landscape. Golfers of all skill levels will find the course to be challenging yet forgiving. The bent grass greens are gently contoured and the Bermuda grass fairways are slightly hilly and always immaculately maintained. More experienced golfers will find the Plantation Golf Club course design a challenge. With its strategic use of bunkers and water hazards, Plantation Golf Club will make sure you bring your "A" game if you want to score low.

Pine Mountain is the newest recreation area in the City of Cartersville. The East Loop Trailhead connects the city to Lake Allatoona's shoreline and reaches 1,562 feet above sea level. The rugged and challenging trail development began crosses Pine Mountain and Hurrican Hollow, so named by early miners. The land is part of the 13,000 acres that were originally the site of Mark Cooper's Iron Empire.
